Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 6-24-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARREST:

Kim E. Parrish, 56, of 524 West Carpenter, Springfield, was arrested for June 23 on a bond forfeiture for manufacturing/delivery of controlled substances.

CRASHES:

On June 22 at 1:30am, Karen J. Gross, 48, of Taylorville was northbound on County Highway 22 when she reportedly ran off the roadway just south of 1622 North 1250 East Road. Gross hit a metal culvert and the embankment and also struck the driveway markers. Gross continued across the driveway and struck the mailbox for 1622 North 1250 East Road. After the crash, Gross continued north. The vehicle had significant damage to the driver's side front wheel that caused the tire to leave marks on the roadway and to pull the vehicle off the road from time to time. Gross went approximately 600 feet to the next drive and turned around. Gross then proceeded south back towards town. There were black marks in the roadway from the tire. Gross eventually pulled off the roadway just north of 1600 North Road. Gross was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital with injures described as serious by the report.

On June 21 at 7:29pm, Taylor N. Tucker, 17, of Kincaid was traveling west on 500 North Road. Around 200 East 500 North Road, a deer came onto the roadway. Tucker struck the deer with the front, right part of the vehicle. There was damage to the hood of the vehicle. Tucker was able to drive the vehicle from the scene. No injuries were reported.

On June 20 at 7:50pm, Larry R. Garner, 73, of Taylorville was traveling south on Route 48. Around 1500 North, a deer ran into the roadway. Garner hit the deer causing damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

On June 20 at 9:02pm, Robert E. Fassero, 47, of Tovey was traveling east on Route 104. Around 185 East, a deer ran into the roadway. Fassero hit the deer causing damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

On June 21 at 5:14am, Anderson J. Himes, 21, of Moweaqua was eastbound on County Highway #4. Around 2700 East, a deer ran into the path of Himes. Himes swerved to miss the deer and ran off the roadway to the right. Himes then struck a large tree about 10ft off the roadway. The vehicle received major damage but no injuries were reported.

On June 21 at 11:43am, Neal Nichols, 82, of Edinburg was westbound on Township Road 2100 North. Just west of Star Bridge, a deer ran into the path of Nichols. Nichols was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the front end of his pickup truck causing damage. Nichols was able to drive the vehicle from the scene. No injuries were reported.

On June 22 at 12:40pm, a vehicle registered to Gina R. Runge of Taylorville was parked facing east on Southeast Sixth Street in Morrisonville. The vehicle was parked about 60 feet east of Prairie Street and mostly on the grass of the Morrisonville Park Property. Sherry L. Millburg, 45, of Morrisonville was backing from a private drive at 601 SE Sixth Street which is on the north side of the street. Millburg backed into the roadway and struck Runge's vehicle. Millburg's vehicle did not receive any noticeable damage. Runge's vehicle received driver's side door damage. No injuries were reported.
