The Taylorville Police Department arrested one person for theft and criminal damage to property on Friday. Around 12:43pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer was told by dispatch that a male subject had broken into a vehicle and fled the scene. The male was later located and identified as Michael E. Durbin, 48, of Taylorville. Durbin was placed under arrest for burglary from a motor vehicle, criminal damage to property, and theft under $300. Durbin was transported to Taylorville Police Department, processed, and then taken to the Christian County Correctional Center for lodging.
