Construction began today on the 5th broadcast studio at the corporate offices of the Miller Media Group at 918 East Park in Taylorville, as the group of radio stations prepares for a major station re-alignment which takes place August 1.

As a result of the purchase last month of the former WINU AM 870 Shelbyville, formats and frequencies in the company's Taylorville-Pana-Shelbyville cluster will change on August 1.

AM 870 and its large Central Illinois signal, will be the new daytime home of the group's newstalk station WTIM. The signal covers an area from Jacksonville to Paris, and Bloomington to Effingham.

94.3 FM will remain WMKR with its existing mainstream country music format. 96.3 FM will be the FM signal for WTIM, the group's newstalk station, covering Christian County and surrounding area 24 hours a day.

97.3 FM will be the new home for the group's 2 oldies stations as they merge into one signal. WRAN and groovy's oldies formats will merge on 97.3 covering a 40-mile radius.

98.3 FM will be the home of a new format for south central Illinois. “NEW Country” will feature the current country hits from such artists as Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, and Florida Georgia Line, from its tower south of Tower Hill. The 98.3 signal covers an area from Litchfield to Mattoon and Vandalia to Sullivan.

104.1 FM will be Taylorville's home for NEW Country music, and 107.5 FM is the location of the new shine.fm that signed on May 31 providing the area its first Contemporary Christian Music format.

Miller Media Group president Randal J. Miller, said the new formats and frequencies will give listeners and advertisers even more listening choices for local radio in south central Illinois.
