Christian County Board Approves Use of Courthouse/Grounds for 175th Celebration and Chillifest

The Christian County Board approved the use of the Courthouse and its grounds for the 175th Anniversary Celebration and Chillifest in October. Member Greg Hager told the Board about some of the requests for the use of the Courthouse and other events for that weekend:

The Board also approved a $3,500 donation to the 175th Celebration Committee.

 

The Christian County Board was presented with an ordinance in regards to the employment of relatives. Member Laura Wilkinson tells the Board about the ordinance:

The Board voted to adopt the ordinance.

 

The Christian County Board heard a request to replace the Livescan fingerprinting system at the Sheriff’s Office. Member Fred Curtin explains why this needed to be done:

The Board approved the request unanimously.

 

The Christian County Board approved to go into joint agreements with the Illinois Department of Transportation for federal participation in the bridge replacement projects for County Highway #1 and Prairieton Bridge #21. The Board also approved the reappointment of Jim Hahn to the Board of Directors for the Illinois Economic Development Association for a 6 year term.
