Taylorville Kiwanis Hear About Conference Re-Alignment

width=The Taylorville Kiwanis Club heard from Taylorville High School athletic director Paul Held, at their weekly meeting Tuesday at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium.

Held reviewed the move next school year, of Taylorville High School from the Central State 8, to the Apollo athletic conference. Held said the Apollo is a 6-team league including schools in Mount Zion, Effingham, Charleston, Mattoon, and Salem. Held added that non-conference football opponents next school year will include Mount Vernon, Peoria Limestone, Rantoul, and Chillicothe.

Held said the conference re-alignment was mostly due to the ability for schools to compete in football, as well as travel.
