Kincaid Mayor Appears in Court Following Second Arrest

Kincaid Mayor Doug Thomas appeared in court this morning following his second arrest for the violation of an order of protection. Probable cause was on March 1st Chadwick Spencer contacted the Christian County Sheriff’s Office to report that Thomas had left comments on his Instagram account. In the interview with Illinois State Police on March 13th, Thomas admitted to leaving the comments on the pictures. Judge Paisley ruled that the probable cause existed and the bond was set at $30,000. This charge will be added to the already scheduled preliminary hearing in regards to the first violation of the order of protection and drug possession charges. The date for that hearing is set for April 14th at 10:00am. If convicted on both charges, Thomas would have to serve a mandatory consecutive sentence meaning he has to serve the first before the second.
