Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 11-6-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE RREPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Michael K. Bennett, 25, of 317 South Curtis Street, Edinburg, was arrested November 5 for violating an order of protection.

Deric D. Brown, 26, of 48 Fairview Court, Taylorville, was arrested November 5 on a bond forfeiture for possession of liquor and a bond forfeiture for speeding.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:

On November 4 at 11:11am, a Taylorville Police Department officer observed Jennifer Girard, 25, of Taylorville driving a white Ford pickup at Shumway and Park Boulevard. The officer knew Girard to have a revoked license. The officer stopped Girard and she said her license was revoked. The officer ran Girard through the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System and she came back with a revoked driver's license. Girard was arrested, issued a citation, processed and released on a notice to appear.

On November 5 at 12:26pm, Matt Hutchinson, Assistant Principal at the Taylorville High School, advised he had two female juveniles that had been involved in a fight inside one of the bathrooms at the High School. Neither juvenile female would say who or what started the fight. Both were arrested and transported to Taylorville Police Department where they were processed and released on a city ordinance violation for fighting.

On November 5 at 4:48pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Bidwell. Following the stop, Deric D. Brown, 26, of Taylorville was arrested for a Macoupin County failure to appear warrant, a Christian County failure to appear warrant, and possession of cannabis under 30 grams.

ACCIDENTS:

Michelle E. Jones, 32, of Taylorville advised she was exiting the drive of the Coin Laundry on Route 104 when she struck Frederick R. Vangeison, 77, of Morrisonville. Jones advised she did not see Vangeison until impact. Jones had front-end damage and was issued citations for operating an uninsured vehicle and failing to yield. Vangeison was headed east on Route 104 when Jones pulled out and struck him. Vangeison advised he did not see Jones until impact. Vangeison received damage to the rear passenger side bed and quarter panel of his truck. No injuries were reported
