After the completion of an autopsy, toxicology and police investigation, Christian County Coroner Amy Winans has released the findings from two area deaths.
50-year-old Philip T. Haines, of Pana died of multiple blunt force injuries due to a pedestrian versus Motor Vehicle. His death was determined to be accidental. Haines was pronounced dead on June 15 at 10:48 P.M. at the scene on Rt. 51 in Pana Township.
34-year-old Nickolas J. Melton, of Springfield died of Hydrocodone, acetaminophen, and alprazolam intoxication. The death was determined to be suicidal. Melton was pronounced dead at Taylorville Memorial Hospital E.R. on June 19 at 10:19 A.M.
