Thomas F. Mayes 38 of Taylorville was driving north on Route 29 when he entered the Route 29, Route 104 intersection. Mayes said he was struck by Owen L. Sharp 92 of Taylorville who was making a left turn in front of him.

Mayes said he thought he had the green light when he entered the intersection. Mayes flipped his 2000 Chevy Blazer on its side before coming to a rest in the middle of the intersection. The Blazer was towed from the scene.

Sharp said he was making a left turn at the intersection of Route 29 and Route 104 when Mayes ran a red light and struck him in the front end of his truck. Sharp also said Mayes was driving very fast and that he had the green light when he was making the left turn.

Sharp's 2007 Chevy Silverado had front driver's side damage. There were no injuries sustained from the accident.
