The Taylorville Police Department investigated the following crashes.
On December 28th at 4:26 AM. 18 year old Hunter J Lybarger of Taylorville was leaving the parking lot of 900 McAdams Drive. Lybarger accelerated causing the tires to spin in the rocks. Unit 1 entered the hard pavement, spun 180 degrees, and began to travel west sideways off of the road way. Unit 1's passenger side struck a fense on the west side of the road causing property damage and damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.
On January 5th at 7:44 AM, Taylorville police responded to a vehicle crash that occurred at West Main Cross and Webster Street. On January 5th, 2026, at approximately 7:44 A.M., Raeanna J. Tucker of Taylorville and Timothy B. Taylor of Decatur were traveling westbound on W. Main Cross St., approaching the intersection of W. Main Cross St. and N Webster St. Taylor was in front of Tucker. Taylor made a complete stop at the stop sign. Tucker failed to stop, striking Taylor's rear bumper with Unit 1's front end. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
On January 10th, 2026 Taylorville police responded to a vehicle crash at Park Street and Webster Street. Darrin L. Burdinsky of Chatham was traveling north on N. Webster St. Karen S. Redcloud of Ramsey was traveling behind Burdinsky on N. Webster St. Driver of Unit 1 looked over her shoulder and accelerated thinking Burdinsky was continuing to drive north. Redcloud struck the rear end of Burdinsky causing vehicle damage only.
