Area Arrests And Accidents 09/12/25

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

9/3/25

Tyler Engelhart, 30, of Pana was arrested by the Pana Police Department for Possession of Methamphetamine and Violation of Pretrial Release.

 

9/5/25

Justen Warren, 42, of Taylorville was arrested by the Pana Police Department for Domestic Battery.

 

9/6/25

Rodney Green, 42, of Pana was arrested by the Pana Police Department for Possession of Methamphetamine.

 

9/8/25

Thomas Coy, 60, of Taylorville was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Criminal Trespass to Land.

 

9/10/25

Vance Gibson, 42, of Taylorville was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Driving While License Revoked or Suspended.

 

9/11/25

Amber Spracklen, 35, of Assumption was arrested by the Assumption Police Department for Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Methamphetamine and Driving while License Revoked or Suspended.

 

9/12/25

Stephen Hutchins, 57, of Taylorville was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Domestic Battery.

 

8/27/25 at 9:00 a.m.

Rondre Graham, 31, of Peru, IL (Unit 1) and Michael Richards, 66, of Edinburg (Unit 2)

Unit 2 was stopped at a stop sign on 1800 North Road at the intersection with IL RT 29 when Unit 1 failed to top behind of Unit. Unit 1 hit Unit 2 in the driver side rear causing damage.

 

9/2/25 at 3:32 p.m.

Nancy Houseman, 69, of Pana (Unit 1) and Todd Parke, 51, of Vandalia (Unit 2)

Unit 2 was passing a motorist on IL RT 29 that was ahead of Unit 1. Unit 1 entered the southbound lane colliding with Unit 2. Unit 1 had damage on its front drivers side and Unit 2 had damage to its front passenger side.

 

9/3/25 at 10:50 p.m.

Rachel Kalala, 33, of Decatur was traveling south on 1600 East Road at 1450 North Road a deer entered the road from the west and the vehicle hit the deer.

 

9/5/25 at 12:56 p.m.

Richard Gregory, 84, of Moweaqua was traveling west on 1350 North Road when the driver had a unknown medical issue causing control loss of the vehicle. The vehicle exited the left side of the roadway and collided with an utility pole owned by Shelby Electric.

 

9/6/25 at 8:41 a.m.

Kaylin Walker, 21, of Blue Mound was traveling northbound on 1250 East Road when witnesses state the vehicle crossed the solid line onto the gravel shoulder for unknown reasons. The driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway into the east ditch when their vehicle became airborne for a brief time before crashing into the opposite side of the ditch. The vehicle overturned and came to a rest on its roof in a wooded area adjacent the ditch/roadway.

 

9/6/25 at 10:31 a.m.

David Duby, 51, of Morrisonville was traveling north on 700 East Road at the intersection of 700 East and 2100 North Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to go into an uncontrollable skid and overturn at the intersection.

 

9/6/25 at 1:13 p.m.

Alyssa Cothern, 19, of Pana (Unit 1) and Daniel Sliger, 35, of Rosamond (Unit 2)

Unit 1 was traveling southbound on 2200 East approaching IL RT 16. Unit 1 disregarded the stop sign at the intersection and crossed both eastbound and westbound lanes of IL RT 16. Unit 2 was traveling eastbound on IL RT 16 and was struck by Unit 1 in the rear of the motorcycle. The collision caused Unit 2 to skid for approximately 100 feet before laying the motorcycle on its side in the roadway. Both the driver and passenger of Unit 2 were transported to Pana Community Hospital for evaluation.

 

9/8/25 at 6:51 a.m.

Matthew Meneguzzo, 32, of Rochester was traveling east on 2800 North Road when an animal entered the roadway and the driver struck the animal and sustained damage to the front of the vehicle 

 

9/5/25 at 5:30 a.m.

Caitlyn Foster, 17, of Kincaid was traveling northbound on 800 East Road at 1850 North Road when a deer entered the roadway from the west and into the northbound lane of traffic. The vehicle struck the deer and sustained minor damage.

 

9/8/25 at 8:53 a.m.

Brandon Roberts, 49 (Unit 1) and Logan Roemer, 29, of Taylorville (Unit 2)

Unit 1 was traveling west on 1500 North Road from IL RT 104 and failed to negotiate the turn and collided with Unit 2. Unit 1 and Unit 2 had minor damage.

 

9/9/25 at 7:52 a.m.

Brittany Hall, 36, of Morrisonville was traveling east on 1250 North Road when a deer entered the roadway. The driver struck the deer causing damage to the front end of the vehicle.

9/02/25
A Juvenile Male, age 14, of Taylorville was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

Adam K. Cherry, age 42, of Rosamond Illinois, was arrested for Retail Theft.

 

9/06/25

 

Timothy R. Farris, age 42, of Taylorville, was arrested on a Warrant.

 

9/08/25

 

Brianna N. Caldwell, age 30, of Pana Illinois, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

Thomas Coy, age 60, of Taylorville, was arrested for Criminal Damage to Property.

 

On July 29th, Ellen Samson reported hearing a loud thud at 1200 N 1350 E Road and saw a dent in her vehicle.

 

On July 30th, Cherie M. Stolte of Blue Mound was travleing south and as they turned, struck a stop sign inside a private parking lot, causing damage. 

 

On August 21st  Timothy B. Bland of Taylorville was traveling northbound on Cherokee Street, while Austin Cox of Decatur was at the stop sign on East Esther facing east.  As Bland approached the intersection, Cox failed to yield striking the rear end of Bland.  Bland's vehicle was jackknifed and Cox had severe damage to their vehicle. Cox admitted they had no insurance and didn't have a driver's license on them.  After police investigated, they found it had been revoked since 2017.  

 

On August 21st, 2025, Seth Cohoon of Taylorville failed to yield right of way to Wilbur N. Chapman of Taylorville on Big Bend Road and Glacier Drive. Neither had a traffic control device, but Big Bend is the main road through the neighborhood and all other side roads are to yield to oncoming traffic.  Chapman was sported to TMH by Dunn's Ambulance for injuries to the wrist.
