The Taylorville Police Department reported the following crashes:

On May 11th at 2:23 PM, A passerby observed a gold van that had hit a stop sign at the intersection of West Main Cross and South Cheney Street. The caller advised the vehicle was left abandoned with no one in or around the vehicle. Police were dispatched to the scene, where a gold Chrysler Town & Country minivan was halfway on the sidewalk and halfway on the street. The front bumper on the passenger side had hit the stop sign causing the pole to bend at an angle. The back bumper on the driver's side had a dent to where it was hit with white transfer paint. The owner of Unit 1 advised she was at the house 3 doors from the stop sign at a yard sale. The owner, Rebecca Stephen had left the vehicle running while she was looking at the yard sale. Police say it was a hit and run but it is unclear who was driving the vehicle.
