Area Arrests And Accidents 12/5/23

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

12-01-23 Trenton Cook was traveling west on 1900 N. near 2550 E. Road when he struck a deer in the roadway. The vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries.

 

12-02-23 Jacobus Awe was traveling north on 1600 East Road. Awe left the roadway south of 1800 North Road and collided with a utility pole, continued north past 1800 North Road and then collided with a ditch on the East side of 1600 East RD. The vehicle was found unoccupied in the ditch and a passerby reported the crash. The vehicle was removed from the scene by towing due to heavy front end damage. Awe stated his vehicle left the roadway because he swerved to miss an animal. No injuries.

 

12-03-23 Marissa Holmes was traveling west on 1700 north in rural Taylorville, IL. Holmes ran off the roadway on the south side of the road. The driver then over corrected and went back across the road to the north ditch. When the Holmes came out of the ditch the vehicle was in a sideways skid and again hit the ditch on the south side of the road. When the vehicle hit the ditch it then rolled one time and came to rest of its top. The vehicle was towed from the scene and Holmes was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

 

12-5-23 Samantha Peters was traveling south on a gravel road in Rosamond Township. Peters was traveling too fast for the road conditions when she lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle exited the road and entered the west road ditch. The vehicle traveled down the road for a short distance before trying to turn to the left. When the vehicle turned to the left it caught the ground and rolled over one time The vehicle came to rest on it wheels. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

12/04/23
Paige J. Hinds, age 19, of Divernon Illinois was arrested for Speeding 35+ mph over the speed limit. 

 

Taylorville Police responded to the following crash: 

 

On November 30th at Webster and East Park Street at 4:48 PM. Kyle J. Gordon of Stonington was facing west on West Park Street in the south turn lane.  Christine D. Marron of Taylorville was traveling east on Spresser Street.  Gordon failed to yield the right of way and Marron hit Gordon’s vehicle.  No injuries were reported.
