Area Arrests And Accidents 03/01/23

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

Arrests

2-25-23 Jacob Coonrod, age 40, of Quincy was arrested by Morrisonville PD on a FTA warrant for domestic battery.

 

2-27-23 Michelle Dixon, age 29, of Stonington was arrested by CCSO on a FTA warrant for possession of meth.

 

2-28-23 Kenna Dilley, age 43, of Pana was arrested by CCSO for driving under the influence.

 

2-28-23 Cory Blake, age 28, of Bulpitt was arrested by CCSO for domestic battery.

 

2-28-23 Diamond Momoh, age 18, of Springfield was arrested by domestic battery.

 

1-1-23 Kevin Wicker, age 49, of Illiopolis was arrested by CCSO for aggravated DUI.

 

 

Crashes

2-17-23 Shelby Furness and Gray Deshawn were involved in a traffic crash in Taylorville. Deshawn was traveling northeast on IL Route 48 and had come to a stop because of multiple deer crossing the roadway ahead of him. Furness was traveling northeast behind Deshawn. Furness failed to reduce speed and collided with Deshawn. No injuries were reported and both Unit 1 and 2 were driven from the scene.  

 

2-18-23 Justin Pruitt was traveling north on 500 East Road when a deer ran out in front of the vehicle. He was unable to avoid hitting the deer. No injuries. No tow.

 

2-19-23 Carly Eddy was traveling west on Route 104 and struck a deer that came out of the south ditch. Eddy was able to drive away from the scene.

 

2-21-23 Steven Kuntzman was westbound on County Highway 2 at approximately 1530 East when he struck a deer. No injuries. No tow.

 

2-22-23 Brandon Andrews was traveling westbound on 1000 North at approximately 2550 East. Andrews swerved to miss the deer and the vehicle went in the ditch. The vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries.

 

2-22-23 Emma Hughes Prehn was traveling southwest on IL Route 48 near 700 North when she struck a cow that was in the roadway. The vehicle was able to be to be driven from the scene. No injuries.

 

2-25-23 Maurice Cooper was traveling southbound  on IL Route 29 approaching 800 East Road when he lost control and slid off the roadway into the right shoulder/ditch and struck an IDOT light pole at the intersection. No injuries. No tow.

 

2-26-23 Sharon Lipe was traveling on IL Route 104 in South Fork township when she collided with a deer in the roadway. No injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

 

2-22-23 Isaac Ferrill was traveling eastbound on 500 North near 250 East in King township when the vehicle hydroplaned and he lost control and struck a guardrail. No injuries. No tow.

 

2-28-23 Heman Rush was traveling east on IL Route 104 in South Fork township when he struck a deer. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. No injuries.

 

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

Dalton L. Dupont, age 30, of Cerro Gordo Illinois was arrested for Aggravated Battery.

 

2/24/23

 

A Juvenile Female, age 17, of Taylorville was arrested for Domestic Battery and Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer.

 

Alex E. Haywood, age 20, of Taylorville was arrested on a Warrant.

 

2/25/23

 

Tylor C. Gesell, age 23, of Taylorville was arrested on a Warrant.

 

Ethan S. Law, age 29, of Decatur Illinois was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine less than 5 grams.

 

Taylorville Police responded to a vehicle accident on South Shumway Street in Taylorville on February 13th. At 11:23 PM, A vehicle was traveling north on South Shumway Street and struck a Jeep which was parked in front of the entrance of 412 South Shumway Street.  The owner of the Jeep observed a vehicle turning east two blocks north. The complainant said the vehicle was a silver Chevrolet Impala between 2007-2009. Officers were notified of the hit and run and responded and a side mirror from the impala was found. Two hours later at 1:31 AM, Officers located a Chevy Impala bearing damage consistent with the report near 600 West 3rd Street in Taylorville.  When the driver, Matthew Woodland, was asked about it, Woodland said that he hit something but was unsure how to handle it. Woodland was issued a ticket for improper lane usage, and leaving the scene of an accident.
