Taylorville’s Peyton DeMichael has been named this year’s Nicole Patrick Country Financial Player of the Year after a dominant season on the softball diamond.
In the stats we were provided, DeMichael posted a standout .495 batting average, racking up 50 hits in 33 games. She was a consistent threat at the plate with 13 doubles, 3 home runs, and 31 runs batted in. She also scored 29 runs and stole 11 bases, showing off athleticism. Her glove was just as strong as DeMichael finished the season with a .952 fielding percentage, committing just 4 errors all year.
DeMichael says that the girls persevered through a tough season, and she is happy to have earned this award. She praised her family, teammates, and coaches for their support.
