Guardians Complete Sweep Over White Sox

Matthew Boyd struck out 9 in 4 1/3 innings, giving up one earned run and six hits as the Cleveland Guardians completed the sweep of the Chicago White Sox with a 6-4 win on Wednesday afternoon. Guardians pitcher Nick Sandlin picked up his 8th win of the season and White Sox' Davis Martin suffered his 4th loss of the year.

The White Sox scored four runs in the 3rd and pulled within one, but the Guardians Lane Thomas scored on a Will Brennan groundout and the Guardians would hang on to pick up the win.

The Chicago White Sox are now tied for 6th with the 2019 Detroit Tigers with 114 losses. The 1962 New York Mets hold the record with 120 losses. The White Sox start a three-game set against the Oakland Athletics.
