Governor JB Pritzker Says No To High School Fall Football

The Governor of Illinois is standing firm on no fall sports like football or volleyball this year. Governor JB Pritzker made the announcement in a press conference on Tuesday addressing fall sports. The IHSA had sent a letter to Governor Pritzker urging the Governor to let the IHSA have control of sports again and to be able to make the decision themselves. The Governor has not responded to the IHSA but did say it was a doctor decision, not his.

The Governor says it is not a political decision but a science decision.

Illinois and Minnesota are the only midwest states that are not playing fall football. The Big Ten announced on Wednesday that football would be back on October 23rd.
