The Taylorville Tornadoes 7th Grade girls basketball team beat Chatham Wednesday night 40 to 16 in Rochester, to advance to the Illinois Elementary School Association championship being played Saturday at Bolingbrook Brooks Middle School.
The girls play Saturday at 2:30 in the afternoon against Markham Prairie-Hills.
There are 8 teams competing in the state finals, and if the 7th Grade Tornado girls win their first game on Saturday, they'll play a second game that day.
If they win the 2 games this Saturday, they'll play in the Championship round December 12th, also at Bolingbrook Brooks Middle School.
