A nationwide recall has been issued for several varieties of Outshine Fruit Bars due to possible contamination with glass.
Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc. announced August 18th that it is voluntarily recalling a limited number of select Outshine Fruit Bar products following consumer reports of glass found in the product.
The recall affects five flavors sold in six-count packages containing 2.5-ounce fruit bars: Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry. Also included are certain Outshine Variety Packs containing 24 2.5-ounce fruit bars.
The affected products were distributed to retailers nationwide. No other Outshine products or varieties are included in the recall.
Consumers can identify affected products by checking the batch codes printed on the packaging. The company says no illnesses or injuries have been reported to date. To compare the UPC or your batch codes to the codes associated with recalled products, CLICK HERE.
Dreyer’s says it is taking the action out of an abundance of caution. Anyone who has purchased an affected product is urged not to consume it and should either dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
