Tractor pull enthusiasts will have the opportunity to take in such competitions for a worthy cause at the Christian County Fairgrounds.  The Ansar Ag Corps and Southern Illinois Pullers League are collaborating to host the second edition of their “Pull-A-Palooza.”  It’s scheduled for Saturday, August 8 at 11 a.m.  The event consists of competitions for 14 different classes, with variations for tractor weight, speed limits, tire cuts, and more.  The Pull-A-Palooza is free to attend, while competitors pay $30 per hook.  Half of the proceeds are paid out to the top three finishers in each class. The other half is donated to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

One class is for vintage modified tractors.  Jay Germann, one of the event organizers, says the event hopes to, in part, showcase all kinds of tractors. 

Dan Gregory is another event organizer.  He says the Ansar Ag Corps have long worked to raise money for Shriners through bringing their tractors to local parades. 

While organizers had room to improve on the first edition last year, they received high praise for the work on the track.
