Local non-profit organizations could see larger financial contributions this year from Shelby Electric Cooperative.  Lending company CoBank, which matches such donations from Shelby Electric Cooperative, will increase its match capacity even further from past years.  Even from previous match numbers, non-profits have received donations summing to six figures in recent years.  Kevin Bernson, vice president of media and public relations at Shelby Electric Cooperative, says the initiative corresponds with their desire to support the local community. 

The cooperative is interested to learn what other non-profits are looking to raise funds.
