IL State Police Seek Public Assistance With Identifying Human Remains Found In Lake Mattoon

Illinois State Police are asking for assistance from the public in identifying the remains of a man discovered in Lake Mattoon.

During the evening hours of Sunday, June 28th, some boaters noticed part of a human arm in Lake Mattoon. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department shortly after reached out to Illinois State Police (ISP) to take on the investigation.

There are very unique and distinct tattoos on his arm, and ISP is hoping that the following photos of the tattoos will assist in identifying the remains.

Below are photos of both tattoos.

If anyone knows someone who has this tattooed on their arm, please reach out to ISP Zone 8 Investigations at 618-542-2400 or email ISP.Zone8commander@illinois.gov.

Further details on the investigation are not available at this time. Keep up to date with any updates on this investigation by continuing to follow taylorvilledailynews.com.
