According to a press release received by Hart Media Group, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently conducted a targeted vehicle stop in Shelby County on April 21, resulting in the arrest of four individuals who were reportedly in the United States illegally.
The individuals had criminal histories that included battery, DUI, drug possession, and larceny.
Two of the four individuals were identified as Mirzon Patlan-Trevino and Antonio Aguilera Garcia. The other two individuals were not publicly identified.
ICE identified Mirzon Patlan-Trevino as a criminal illegal immigrant from Mexico. According to ICE, Patlan-Trevino stated he illegally entered the United States through the southern border in 2005.
ICE reported that Patlan-Trevino has previous arrests for battery, larceny, compounding a crime, disorderly conduct, and two separate DUI offenses. His DACA renewal application was denied due to the extent of his criminal history.
Patlan-Trevino will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. ICE stated that all of his claims will be heard and that he will receive full due process.
The other identified individual, Antonio Aguilera Garcia, was also recognized by ICE as a criminal illegal immigrant from Mexico. ICE reported that Garcia has previous arrests for DUI and drug possession.
According to ICE, Garcia has entered the country illegally at least three times between 1997 and 2024. Because illegal re-entry into the United States is a felony, Garcia will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. ICE also stated that Garcia will receive full due process.
