Lincoln Land Community College is inviting the public to a series of free concerts both on campus and around the Springfield area in the coming days.
The LLCC Choir will kick things off with a concert titled “Fly and Shine” on Friday, May 1 at 1 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons on the Springfield campus. The performance will feature a variety of musical styles, including gospel, spirituals, musical theatre and classical selections. The choir is directed by Dr. See Tsai Chan and will include several student soloists.
Later that evening, the LLCC Choir will join forces with the University of Illinois Springfield Choir for a combined performance at 7 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Springfield.
Earlier in the week, the college will host its Student Honors Recital on Wednesday, April 29 at 7 p.m. in Menard Hall, highlighting top student performers.
The LLCC Jazz Band will wrap up the concert series with its final performance of the season on Monday, May 4 at 7 p.m., also in A. Lincoln Commons. Directed by Professor Jason Waddell, the concert will feature vocalist Piper Chase performing several well-known jazz standards along with student soloists.
All events are free and open to the public. Lincoln Land Community College also reminds prospective students that registration is now open for summer and fall classes.
