Representative Butler Concerned About High Numbers Leaving Illinois

Representative Tim Butler, who is a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives representing the 87th district since March 3, 2015 will be running for the 95th district. The 87th included all or portions of Sangamon, Menard, Logan and Tazewell counties in Central Illinois. The new 95th district will cover parts of Sangamon, Christian, and Macon.  Representative Butler said one of the big issues that they are focused on are people leaving the state and bringing jobs to Central Illinois.

Another big reason people are leaving are taxes, and better opportunities in neighboring states.

Representative Butler is focusing also on energy especially with the changes to the Kincaid Power Plant.

Another area that Representative Butler says is not utilized correctly is how important tourism is to Central Illinois.
