The Taylorville Park District met on Monday evening to discuss old and new business and to review committee reports. Cheryl Dagon, who spent many years writing for the Breeze Courier joined the Park Board as a new member. She tells Regional Radio News that she is excited to be on the Park Board.
Recreational Director Bailey Hancock says she was very happy to open the pool on time this year after being able to fix the leak. She also announced that the numbers have been very nice since than.
Hancock also announced that one of her lifeguards received a Golden Guard award which only 1% of lifeguards across the US get.
She also says that the day camps have been very successful. The budget was also approved, and a board member code of conduct was handed out as well. The next board meeting is set for July 26th.
