Author Kevin Corley has written many books about coal mining in Christian County and a lot of it started from interviews that he conducted with over 40 different coal miners. Corley says that it all started in 1985 while he was working for his Masters' Degree.

Corley is now working on his fifth book that will be out soon.

The new book, Bootlegger Heaven, will focus on the Shelton Gang who fought a battle and dropped bombs from airplanes and had tanks. At the Christian County Coal Miners Museum, he has the interviews so you can hear the voices of those who were in the mines.

Corley says this museum means a lot for the community.
