Klekamp Pleads Not Guilty After Preliminary Hearing Held

A Taylorville man accused of murdering 17-year-old Alter E. Ivy II had his preliminary hearing on Thursday. Richard Klekamp Jr. appeared in court for his preliminary hearing on Thursday and plead not guilty, requesting a trial by jury. Klekamp, who is being represented by Attorney Tom Finks, has been in custody since May 27th when he was arrested in connection with the shooting that took place on the Christian County Courthouse lawn in Taylorville. 

 

Associate Judge J. Marc Kelly presided over the hearing. Probable cause was indeed found and Judge Kelly set the next pretrial for July 22nd at 11 AM with a Jury trial to take place on Tuesday, September 7th at 8:30 AM.
