Shelby Electric expects power to be back up relatively soon after an Ameren Switch burned up. According to a Facebook post from Shelby Electric it is expected to be fixed soon. According to the Shelby Electric Outage map, over 150 people in Shelby County and Shelbyville are without power. 

"Our construction superintendent informed us they will be shutting power down to members who have reported low voltage. Sounds like Ameren had a switch pole burn up so that is causing low voltage to some of our members. We will be shutting power down for safety reasons.

Ameren is working on their equipment issues and we have crews standing by to restore power once they fix this issue. --SHELBY ELECTRIC COOP FACEBOOK PAGE
