The 7th annual Scholarship Awareness Day is a way for students to see all the scholarships available to them in one simple easy location. Patty Hornbuckle, who is with the Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce, wanted to make it easier for students to apply and locate the many scholarships that are available.
Having people available allowed students access to meet and see if they actually qualify for the scholarship however with COVID, they can’t be in person so Hornbuckle is working on a workaround.
The return on investments for these companies, Hornbuckle says, more than makes up for it.
The benefit for the students being able to get these scholarships can go a long way towards helping pay for some of these costs.
