TMH Relaxing Visitation Rules As COVID Vaccine Is Given

Taylorville Memorial Hospital has announced a few changes to the Hospital including a relaxation on visitor restrictions. President and CEO of TMH Kim Bourne, says that they are now allowing one visitor during the hours of 8AM and 8PM.

No visitors are allowed for patients being treated for COVID-19 or patients being evaluated for COVID-19 until a COVID-19 infection is ruled out.  In the emergency room, one visitor is allowed who can remain in the patient’s room for duration of the visit and for inpatient at end of life, two visitors are allowed. Bourne says that it is so important to have visitors for patients as it can be an extra element of safety.

The state has been allowed to customize the guidelines set up by the CDC and Bourne says that Illinois has split up the vaccine into phases like 1A and 1B.

This allows more vaccines to be freed up for Phase 1B which is driven by IDPH guidelines.

Bourne says that it has been refreshing seeing the IDPH and the Christian County Health Department work to head out and get those vaccines to people who need it. Kim Bourne appeared as a guest on our NEWSTALK WTIM Morning Show.
