Christian County Sheriff Kettelkamp Concerned About Condition Of Jail & Offices

Christian County will be voting on whether or not they support adding a small safety tax to help rebuild or remodel the Christian County jail complex.  Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp says that these are important needs. He believes that it is urgent that this passes when it’s on the ballot in April.

Sheriff Kettelkamp is concerned because while there are 62 beds in the jail, it was only designed to house 15 people.

While the jail itself is in poor condition, Kettelkamp says that with the new restrictions that are being put through from new legislature the Sheriff’s Office needs a serious overhaul as well.

Kettelkamp believes we are taxed too much but this is a public safety tax that is one penny on the dollar and will go a long way towards promoting public safety.

Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp appeared as a guest on the Newstalk WTIM Morning Show.
