Lieutenant Ben Toberman; Sergeant Alan Mills Recognized By Taylorville Police Department

The Taylorville Police Department is recognizing Lieutenant Ben Toberman as Officer of the Year for 2020. There were Officers that were on the list that were chosen from. Police Chief Dwayne Wheeler says that there were a few officers that were nominated but Lieutenant Toberman stood out.

 

 

Chief Wheeler also praised Sergeant Alan Mills for being Officer of the Quarter for the 4th Quarter.

 

 

Chief Wheeler says that he is consistently humbled by the great crew that he has and knows that they will overcome whatever obstacles get put in front of them concerning police reform.

 

 

The Taylorville Police Department was also recognized for the work that they have put in to join the Illinois National Association for Advancement for Colored People (NAACP) and the Illinois Association of the Chiefs of Police in adopting the “Ten Shared Principles.” This is a set of principles designed to build mutual trust between law enforcement and the community.

Taylorville Police Chief Dwayne Wheeler appeared as a guest on the NewsTalk WTIM Morning Show.
