BREAKING NEWS: Taylorville "Drive-Thru" Graduation Nixed by State Board of Education

Taylorville High School seniors that were expecting to get their diploma at a "drive-thru" graduation, will now have their diploma presented at their home.

The Illinois State Board of Education on Wednesday suspended any "drive-thru" graduations across the state, citing health concerns.

As a result, Taylorville school superintendent Doctor Chris Dougherty is now planning to deliver each T-H-S senior their diploma at their home, accompanied by principal Matt Hutchison and board president Steve Turner, on graduation date of May 22nd.

Doctor Dougherty added if the State Board of Education changes their minds, Taylorville will go back to previous ideas.

Doctor Dougherty wants to honor what the Governor and the State Board of Education decide.
