Woman's Body Found In Beecher City, Two Men In Custody

Two men are facing charges after a body was found in Beecher City on Wednesday. 29-year-old Kimberly A. Mattingly’s body was found in rural Beecher City, which resulted in an investigation by the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation (ISP) (DCI). 

 

Christopher E. Glass of Mason Illinois was taken into custody by the Indiana State Police and Terre Haute Police Department.  He is in custody pending extradition to Illinois. Glass’ bond was set at $5 million with 10% to apply. Glass is being charged with two counts of First Degree Murder, Concealment of Homicidal Death, and a parole violation warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

 

Also, 37-year-old Aaron M. Kaiser of Beecher City was arrested and charged with the Concealment of Homicidal Death. Kaiser is being held in the Effingham County Jail pending a bond hearing. If convicted a first-degree murder sentencing range is between 20-60 years up to life in the IDOC. If convicted of concealment of a homicidal death, the sentencing range is up to 2-5 years in the IDOC. 

 

ISP DCI was assisted by multiple law enforcement agencies including, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Edgar County Sheriff’s Office, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, Paris Police Department, Edgar County State’s Attorney’s Office, Indiana State Police, and the Terre Haute Police Department. 

 

The public is reminded that all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
