Chris-Mont EMA Announces New COVID-19 Case In Montgomery; Will Not Give Recovery Numbers

Montgomery, Shelby, and Fayette Counties are all reporting 1 new COVID-19 case. Macon County has the most with 96 positive tests and 11 deaths.  Sangamon County has tested the most people with over 1,350 negative tests and 73 positives and 33 recoveries

Chris-Mont EMA has announced that they will not be giving recovery numbers. Chris-Mont EMA Director Greg Nimmo says that guidance from health officials as to the moment people who had been infected can no longer infect others is often conflicting, and follow up testing is often unavailable. A big concern from the US News and World Report is that with the coronavirus some people who appear to have recovered may become symptomatic again.

Nimmo says the Chris-Mont EMA will continue to provide positive and negative tests and loss of life for Montgomery and Christian County but no further numbers will be posted at this time.
