Montgomery County Reports New COVID-19 Case; Chris-Mont EMA Urging Awareness On Social Media

The Christian County Montgomery County EMA announced one new COVID-19 case in Montgomery County this brings their positive case count up to 17. Other health departments reported increases in positive tests in Sangamon, Macon, and Fayette Counties.  Sangamon has the highest positive tests in central Illinois with 66 and Macon has the highest death total in central Illinois with 11. 

 

The Chris-Mont EMA reminds everyone to be aware of posts on Facebook and other social media formats from unofficial sources. If a positive COVID-19 case is determined, the Department of Public Health will trace and monitor the situation and contact you if you need to be quarantined. Many things are kept confidential due to HIPPA and privacy. 

 

Remember to stay home if you are sick, order online or use a curbside pickup if at all possible. Talk to your doctor online, phone, or email, use hand sanitizer often, and wash your hands often.
