The Christian County Board will meet remotely at noon on Tuesday. To join the meeting, dial 1- 408-418-9388. The operator will ask for the meeting number. Type the number 628-131-667#. There might be a password. The password is 0421#. The meeting will approve previous minutes and have public comments including a reading of communications.
Under committee reports, there will be a motion to approve ten liquor license renewals. For the building, grounds, and environmental committee, a list of events was presented by the director of downtown Taylorville, Marcia Neal. Vince Harris, from animal control, has proposed a small increase in adoption fees to help cover the cost of chipping which is now mandatory. For highway business, some equipment was authorized to be sold and approval to purchase a new mini excavator will go to the board.
Under new business, Greg Nimmo, Chris-Mont EMA manager will give an update. There will also be a motion to extend the emergency declaration proclamation, along with taking a look at some finance issues.
A motion will be brought before the board to authorize payment of courthouse ceiling repairs and to install chicken wire in the ceiling on the third floor to catch any falling ceiling.
Under appointments/reappointments, Dave Wagner will be appointed to a 3 year term for the Taylorville Fire Protection District, Jim Hahn will be reappointed to to the board of directors for the Central Illinois Economic Development Authority.
