Christian County Reporting 24 Cases Of COVID-19; EMA Warns Of Scams

Chris-Mont Emergency Management Agency Director Greg Nimmo released some new numbers for the counties concerning COVID-19. Montgomery County has 9 positive tests including 1 death. The county is reporting 139 negative tests. Christian County is reporting 24 positive tests including 3 deaths and 141 negatives. Sangamon County is reporting 41 positive tests with 3 deaths. Shelby County is reporting 3 positive tests, Moultrie County is reporting 2 tests, and Fayette County is reporting 11 positive tests and 1 death. Macon County is reporting 42 positive tests and 1 death with 31 of the positive tests coming from Fair Havens Senior Living long-term care facility in Decatur.

 

Rolling Meadows in Taylorville had their quarantine lifted on Saturday morning. Park Glen still remains under quarantine until April 19th. The Chris-Mont EMA, Department of Public Health, and the city of Taylorville continue to monitor the situation. 

The Chris-Mont EMA also is warning of potential scams from people calling, texting, or emailing saying they can give financial help. The EMA is warning people to not trust anyone who offers financial help and then asks for money or personal information. The Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, the US Health and Human Services and the CDC staff never charge for disaster assistance. If you get a phone call like that please inform the authorities.
