The Taylorville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a house on the 500 block of White Avenue on Thursday evening. When firefighters arrived, the front of the house was fully ablaze. The resident had self-evacuated and was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital by Dunn’s Ambulance for smoke inhalation. Taylorville fire crews along with Stonington Fire and Owaneco Fire helped put out the blaze. Taylorville Police and Dunn’s Ambulance also assisted. The damage was confined to just the original house. The Illinois State Fire Marshall was called and are investigating the fire.
