Chris-Mont EMA To Stop Listing Pending COVID-19 Tests; Montgomery County Has 2 New Cases

Montgomery County announced new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday evening. The Chris-Mont County Emergency Management Agency released the numbers late on Thursday evening. Montgomery County is now reporting 5 cases of the virus with 1 death, while Christian County is reporting the same amount: 23 positive of which includes 3 deaths.  Sangamon County is reporting four new positive cases. This brings their total to 35 positives with 2 deaths. Shelby County is still reporting 3 cases. Moultrie County is reporting 2 cases. Macon County is reporting 13 positive cases with 1 death.

The Chris-Mont EMA announced they will no longer be listing pending tests in their reports. The reason for that is as new sources of testing have opened up through some private providers it is increasing the number of pending tests overall. While that is good, private providers will track their own pending cases so Chris-Mont EMA will no longer be giving those numbers out.

These numbers reflect all state-approved tests and any known private laboratory testing. As always stay tuned to Regional Radio News and taylorvilledailynews.com for more on the coronavirus outbreak.
