Update On Central Illinois Corona Virus Cases

In what has been a busy day in central Illinois for COVID-19, more cases sprung up in Shelby and Moultrie Counties. Shelby County is reporting three cases now, with a 31-year-old female testing positive for the virus. In Moultrie County, the health department announced its second confirmed case of COVID-19. This patient is a male, also in his 30’s. He is currently quarantined at home and public health officials are working on contacting and verifying close contacts on both cases.

The Christian Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency is reporting the same numbers: Montgomery County has 3 positive tests(1 death) with 25 pending tests, while Christian County has 23 positive tests (3 deaths) with 4 pending tests.

As for the Park Glen apartments in Taylorville, their quarantine goes through April 19th and EMA Director Greg Nimmo says that their essential needs are being met. The Rolling Meadows Senior Living quarantine is set to end on April 10th (Friday). The health department still has to decide whether that quarantine will actually end or continue.
