Social Security Not Changing During COVID-19 Outbreak

The Social Security Administration wants to remind the public that Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will still be paid on time during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Social Security Administration is also warning of potential scammers who are using the coronavirus as a way to trick people into giving away their money.

As far as stimulus checks and economic payments go, the Treasury Department, NOT the Social Security Administration, will be making those payments. Social Security has plenty of online self-service options and the agency continues to make those improvements.

The agency would ask that you to use their online services because of long waits on the 800 number. You can always visit www.socialsecurity.gov or call your local office for your questions during this time.

As always, continue to visit Taylorvilledailynews.com for more information on the COVID-19 outbreak.
