The City of Taylorville is banning leaf burning for the month of April.  Taylorville Mayor Bruce Barry announced in a press release, that all leaf burning is banned due to the effects on the respiratory system from COVID-19. The virus attacks those with weakened immune systems and the mayor is asking everyone to cooperate accordingly. 

Residents are encouraged to take leaves to the street department free of charge or if you bag them up and place them on your boulevard, Mayor Barry says he will see that they are picked up.
