Taylorville's new Industrial Park took a huge step forward this week, when the Taylorville Development Association, a group of local and civic leaders that own the property on Taylorville's northwest side, awarded bids for infrastructure totaling some one-million dollars.

Mary Renner is Executive Director of the Christian County Economic Development Corporation, which has assisted the T-D-A in obtaining a 537-thousand dollar matching grant from the Economic Development Administration in Chicago.

Renner gave a lot of credit for getting T-D-A to this point, to its chairperson and long-time Taylorville banker Ken Hart.

And Renner also told Regional Radio News that nothing will be as satisfying for her, than the announcement the Economic Development Administration had approved the 537-thousand dollar matching grant for the new park.

Construction is expected to begin this spring with completion by the fall.
