Governor Pritzker Extends Stay At Home Order Until April 30th; Nearly 1,000 New COVID-19 Cases In Illinois

Governor JB Pritzker extended the stay at home order through April 30th, Tuesday afternoon in a press conference. Governor Pritzker announced the decision was being done thanks to science and guidance from his advisors. Governor Pritzker stressed that he would end this early if he possibly could, but it wasn’t going to be done anytime soon.

 

The Governor gave a snapshot of hospitals in Illinois and said that the situation is changing by the minute.

 

 

Dr. Ngozi Ezike, Director of the Illinois Public Health, says that there are 937 new cases of coronavirus disease today. Currently, the Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 5,994 cases, including 99 deaths, in 54 counties in Illinois.  Dr. Ezike says that some hospitals are reaching their capacities on ventilators and other hospital equipment.
