465 New Cases of COVID-19 In Illinois; 7 New Deaths

There are 465 new cases in Illinois of COVID-19, with seven new deaths including a death at Stateville Correctional Center.  The numbers for the state are 5,057 with 73 deaths in 52 counties. 12 men from Stateville are now hospitalized including several requiring ventilators. Director of Public Health, Dr. Ngozi Ezike, says that we all have a role to play and everything matters: action and inaction.

Dr. Ezike says that it’s not just prisons that are seeing outbreaks of cases in small clusters.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker says that just because there are fewer cases today than there were yesterday does not mean we have flattened the curve. We need to look at days and weeks of data as opposed to just one day.

There is a continued push for supplies and PPE to the state and the Governor is working with several entities including the Federal government to get supplies into our area for our hospitals.  You can listen to every Governor JB Pritzker press conference at 2:30 PM every day on NEWSTALK WTIM and its many platforms.
