The Howard G. Buffett Foundation Has Partnered With Christian County Restaurants To Feed First Responders

The Howard G. Buffett Foundation today announced a $60,000 partnership with locally-owned restaurants within Christian County to offer free meals for first responders that operate within Christian County. The food voucher support will cover meals starting today, March 30th through Tuesday April 28th and the food vouchers have been given to the participating law enforcement agencies who in turn will distribute to on-duty first responders in Christian County.

Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp talked about the generosity of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and how this partnership came about.

Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce CEO Patty Hornbuckle talked about how they want the locally-owned restaurants to benefit from this and how she wanted to spill the beans on this last week on the morning show, but just wasn’t quite ready to.

Finally, Hornbuckle talked about how we really want to thank our first responders for laying their lives on the line each and every day to fight this virus.

The local restaurants participating in the food voucher program include Angelo’s Pizza, Angelo’s Express, Bill’s Toasty Shop, Burton’s Tap, Charro Mexican Restaurant, Family Traditions Bakery, Kluges on the Square, Los Rancheros, Muck’s Place, Pizza Man of ana, QQ China, Route 51 Eats & Treats, Spring Garden Restaurant, Taco Gringo, Triangle Pub, Uptown Cafe, and Yummy Hibachi & Sushi on Wheels. All meals will be available for take-out only.
