Taylorville School District Announces Extended Closure

When Governor JB Pritzker announced the Stay At Home order on Friday, that came with the added caveat that schools will remain closed as well. Nothing can be set in stone, but the Taylorville School District is hoping to reopen on April 13th.

Dr. Chris Dougherty, Superintendent of Taylorville Schools, shared with Regional Radio News how they are still helping the students.

The closure and the reopening date came from the state level. However, Dr. Dougherty says the potential reopening date of April 13th would time out well within the Taylorville School District schedule, should they able to resume.

School might be out, but that doesn’t mean education can stop. Dr. Dougherty explains what students and parents can do to aid in continued learning.
