CCEDC Announces Help For Small Businesses

Christian County Economic Development Corporation, or CCEDC, is not going to stand idly by while local business take a hit. They will do what they can to help. Executive Director of CCEDC, Mary Renner, says that right now the goal is putting together what she calls an outreach program.

One of the main avenues for help is a loan through the Small Business Administration (SBA). According to Renner, she and Becky Edwards went through training that allows them to help with the application process for any business that may need it.

These are unprecedented times, but Renner says that CCEDC will be constantly looking for ways to help local businesses in Christian County.

This is the verbiage in the letter that was sent out to Christian County Business Owners:

Dear Christian County Business Owner:
We are experiencing challenging times while we band together to combat the Coronavirus Covid-19.  On behalf of the Christian County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) Board of Directors, I am reaching out to you to provide assurance that we are here to aid you in identifying and accessing available resources to help your business through this difficult and challenging time.

Federal and state government officials are mobilizing assistance programs to address a variety of challenges to business impacted by the Coronavirus. Among the programs being considered by congress as a part of a $2 to 3 trillion dollar aid package to small business is a lender draw down of up to 250% of a businesses one month payroll. This will be in the form of a100% forgivable loan channeled through private lenders by the Small Business Administration (SBA) directly to impacted businesses.

When congress passes the final business assistance legislation, CCEDC can help you identify which of these programs best meets your individual need and provide help with applying for funds as well as direction throughout the application process.

At the appropriate time if we can help you, please call me at 217.638.5032 and I will be happy to assist you. We appreciate you doing business in Christian County and want to make sure that you have every available resource to help you grow and prosper in the county in the future.

Best Regards,
Mary Renner
